About QCNI

Queens County Neuropsychiatric Institute (QCNI) is a private, not-for-profit psychiatric clinic providing mental health services to New Yorkers.

We have provided these services to individuals of varied cultures and nationalities since our founding in 1961.

QCNI is licensed by the New York State Department of Mental Health.

Clients Served

QCNI serves children ages 5 & up, and adults. We provide treatment for various emotional problems and mental illnesses, including but not limited to the following:

  • Academic and Behavioral Problems
  • Anxiety Disorders (e.g., panic attacks, phobias…)
  • Depression
  • Insomnia
  • Manic Depressive Disorder
  • Obsessive Compulsive Symptoms
  • Schizophrenia

Our licensed Psychiatrists, Psychologists, and Certified Social Workers are available to provide the quality care necessary to help individuals improve their ability to cope with life’s challenges.

Location

The Institute is located at 37-64 72nd Street in the Jackson Heights neighborhood of Queens. We are two blocks from the E, F, M, R, and #7 trains stopping at the Roosevelt Avenue / 74th Street station. From the station walk two blocks west along Roosevelt Avenue to 72nd Street. Turn right at 72nd Street. The Institute is located a few buildings down the block on the far side of the street.

Several buses stop at the 74th Street station – the Q32, Q33, Q47, Q49, and Q70 – making the Institute accessible by both bus and train.

Payments & Insurance

We accept straight Medicaid and Medicare coverage and we accept patients from the following HMOs:

  • AmeriChoice (by UnitedHealth Care)
  • Empire Blue Cross  (formerly Amerigroup and HealthPlus)
  • Fidelis Care
  • Healthfirst

Private patients are seen at moderate rates. We do not take commercial insurance.

Office Hours

We are routinely open during the following hours. On major national holidays we close.

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM to 9 PM
  • Friday: 8:30 AM to 5 PM
  • Saturday: 9 AM to 5 PM

Arrange An Appointment

The multicultural background of our staff allows patients to be treated in English, Spanish, and Russian. To arrange an appointment with a professional staff member phone the Institute at 718 335 3434. We strive to arrange an intake interview within 24-96 hours.
